New Training: Safety Analyses for Automated Driving Systems (ADS)
SRES has released a new two-day training workshop focused on qualitative safety analyses for ADS and ADAS systems, aligned with ISO 26262:2018 and ISO 21448:2022. The course covers FMEA, FTA, CTA, and STPA methods with hands-on exercises and structured walkthroughs.
Built for teams developing automated driving systems, this training is ideal for engineers applying ISO standards in safety-critical AI-enabled systems.
Why it Matters
As safety and AI development grow more intertwined, engineers need to go beyond summaries and apply structured analysis methods that hold up in real-world assurance. This training helps close the gap between the intent of the standards and the practical analysis workflows required to meet them.
It’s led by experienced SRES practitioners with direct ADS program experience and includes focused time for applying these techniques to realistic system scenarios.
Covered Topics Include:
- FMEA, FTA, CTA, and STPA for ADAS/ADS
Hazard identification under ISO 21448
Triggering conditions and functional insufficiencies (FI2TC / TC2FI)
Aligning analyses with ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 safety goals
