Bill Taylor brings decades of experience shaping how the automotive industry approaches safety-critical systems. As a co-founder of kVA, he helped establish industry benchmarks for functional safety and autonomous vehicle development, guiding the firm through its growth and eventual acquisition in 2019.

His leadership experience includes roles as Director of R&D and Chief Engineer at major tier-1 suppliers, where he led multidisciplinary teams focused on innovation in both hardware and software-integrated vehicle systems.

A respected technical voice, Bill has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. His contributions have earned awards including SAE’s Arch T. Colwell Award for Outstanding Paper and the IEEE Best Paper Award. As a speaker and educator, he has trained thousands of engineers across the globe.

Bill holds certifications in Safety for AI, Autonomous Vehicle Safety, and ISO 26262 Functional Safety. At SRES, he is focused on helping organizations navigate the complex intersection of emerging technology, safety, and regulatory responsibility.
