Overview
The safety of vehicle functions is a high priority within established automotive development processes. However, applying artificial intelligence to safety-critical functions introduces challenges that cannot be fully addressed through the methods used for classical systems. Established approaches to safety arguments are not directly transferable to AI technologies. SRES instructors lead this training as senior industry practitioners, drawing on SRES’s involvement in international AI safety standardization and experience supporting safety programs across global OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and technology organizations.
This certification training begins with the foundations of artificial intelligence and examines how established automotive standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 can be supplemented by frameworks and standards for responsible and safe AI, including ISO/PAS 8800, ISO/TS 5083, ISO/IEC 42001, and ISO/IEC TR 5469. An optional exam to obtain the AI-Safety Professional (AISP) certificate from SGS-TÜV Saar is available following the training.
