More About Gokul
In the summer of 2012, Gokul started his automotive career at kVA as their first employee, only 6 months after the release of the first edition of ISO 26262. Prior to that, he was funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to advance research on hybrid-electric vehicle propulsion controls and vehicle systems engineering at Clemson University. kVA’s rapid growth enabled Gokul to establish himself as a safety thought leader in the automotive industry that had begun transforming into the software-intensive electric and autonomous future that we have today.
In 2018, Gokul set up kVA’s west coast office in Portland, Oregon and built up a world-renowned team of experts in ADAS and AV safety frameworks. Upon kVA’s acquisition, he scaled his AV safety team into a global organization within UL Solutions – partnering with major automakers in Europe and Asia. Since 2021, Gokul has incubated similar high profile expert teams in automotive cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning (AI/ML) safety domains.
Gokul has enjoyed the unique privilege of training 1000+ industry colleagues, coaching and learning from several more professionals and industry executives. At SRES, he is now driven by an intense desire and passion to partner with clients to develop responsibly safe and secure products for society, to be a responsible organization within their supply chain, and to scale responsibly to create long-term value for their shareholders.
